SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • May 7, 2013 — Universal Audio (UA), a leading manufacturer of professional audio recording hardware and software, is pleased to announce the release of UAD Software v7.0, featuring two new Direct Developer plug-ins — SPL TwinTube and Sonnox Oxford Inflator.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • May 7, 2013 — Universal Audio (UA), a leading manufacturer of professional audio recording hardware and software, is pleased to announce the release of the groundbreaking Ocean Way Studios plug-in for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform. Developed over a three-year period by UA and Allen Sides, Ocean Way Studios is an audio processing first — combining elements of room, microphone, and source modeling so tracks sound as if they were recorded in the legendary studios of Ocean Way Recording.

Built upon UA’s proprietary new Dynamic Room Modeling, Ocean Way Studios provides the unique ambience and dispersion properties of various sources in the rooms at Ocean Way, as recorded through a selection of rare vintage microphones that can be dynamically positioned in real time via a simple click-and-drag interface. Ideal mic selections and placements are provided in both Ocean Way Recording’s “Studio A” and “Studio B” — the exact rooms and setups used to record some of the biggest acts of all time.

“Ocean Way Studios is one of the most ambitious projects in UA history,” explains Bill Putnam, Jr., UA founder and CEO. “We’re going far beyond previous convolution technologies to provide the complex interactions between room, source, and microphones — the things that make the acoustics at studios like Ocean Way Recording so special.”

The beautifully balanced, performance-inspiring rooms of Ocean Way Recording have shaped the sound of countless classic records, from Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles to Michael Jackson and Radiohead. The man at the helm of Ocean Way Recording for more than two decades, Allen Sides, provided guidance, sonic tuning — and access to his $250,000 collection of vintage microphones — throughout the Ocean Way Studios design process.

“The Ocean Way Studios plug-in comes as close to pulling up a set of my favorite mics at Ocean Way as I could imagine,” said Allen Sides. “The speed at which I can use this in a mixing configuration is ridiculous, and the results are stunning.”

The new Ocean Way Studios Plug-In is now available on the UAD Powered Plug-Ins Platform for $349US via UA’s Online Store as part of UAD Software v7.0. — which also includes the SPL Twintube and Sonnox Inflator Plug-Ins.

Ocean Way Studios Plug-In Features Include:

Breakthrough acoustic emulations of Ocean Way Recording’s legendary Studio A and Studio B

Dynamic Room Modeling combines room, microphone, and source models for unprecedented realism

Incorporates sonic profiles of vintage microphones from Allen Side’s world-renowned collection

Includes mic bleed and mic proximity effects for stunning accuracy

Choose from eight instrument / vocal source types with unique dispersion patterns

Position and blend between three vintage mic pairs (Near / Mid / Far) in real time

Use in “Reverb” mode, mixing wet and dry signal; or “Re-Mic” mode, replacing your original room and mic sounds altogether

Preset mic selections, placements and creative direction by Ocean Way’s Allen Sides

Ableton releases Push – the hardware instrument for making songs from scratch.

High-quality, dynamic pads, buttons, encoders and display combined with an innovative workflow allow you to play and compose musical ideas without the need to look at or touch your computer.

The most important features at a glance:

Play and sequence beats: Push’s 64 velocity- and pressure-sensitive multi-color pads can be used to play, step sequence, and navigate within rhythm patterns – all at the same time. The 11 touch-sensitive endless encoders can control device parameters, adjust velocity, nudge timing and more.

Play melodies and chords in a new way: Push “folds” a keyboard’s worth of notes into its 64 pads, with different pad colors showing the key center and other notes in the key. This allows you to play in every key using the same finger patterns, move between keys at the touch of a button, and explore new harmonies and phrases.

Improvise with song structure: Push expands the scope of creation with its unique workflow. Using just a few buttons to trigger clips, overdub notes, move between song materials and variations lets Ableton Live itself become an intuitively playable instrument.

The AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ mobile Apps offer models of Hendrix’s actual amps, cabinets and effects, so that anyone can reproduce his tone or tweak it and make it their own. The presets are arranged in discography format, making it easy to dial up the right gear and settings to replicate the guitar sound from virtually any song in his catalog. Use IK’s iRig or iRig STOMP interfaces to get the best spot-on emulations of the Hendrix gear.

The Apps provide two historically accurate amp models: JH Gold (based on Marshall® JTM 45™), “the” amp that Hendrix used almost exclusively from 1968 on, and JH Dual (based on a Fender™ Dual Showman), each with a matching cabinet.

Five effects are included: Uni-V (based on Univox™ Uni-Vibe), Octa-V (based on the Roger Mayer™ Octavia), Fuzz Age (based on the Arbiter® Fuzz Face®), Noise Filter (from AmpliTube), and Wah 46 (based on the Vox™ V846 wah, and free after registration).

The Song player can also load songs from the user library, or via Wi-Fi and File Sharing; and it provides a Speed Trainer and a vocal-eliminator.

The Apps are equipped with a single-track recorder that can be expanded to 4 or 8 track self-contained studios with mixers and master effects, for the iPhone and iPad Apps respectively.

Pricing and Availability:

AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ for iPhone/iPod touch or iPad are available on the App Store℠ for $14.99 / €13.99. Owners of AmpliTube can obtain the Hendrix models through In-App Purchase after updating to the latest version.

New York, NY — Aguilar, the leading edge USA manufacturer of high quality bass pickups, is pleased to announce the AG 4P/J-HC hum-canceling pickup set. The AG 4P/J-HC set brings together matched Precision® and Jazz®-style pickups including Aguilar’s successful AG 4P-60 P-Bass pickup and the recently released AG 4J-HC bridge pickup.

Many P/J setups have pickups that are mismatched sonically – an overly deep neck pickup with puny bridge pickup tone. By way of contrast, the Aguilar AG 4P/J-HC is a well-balanced set that provides a flexible array of tones, whether using each pickup alone or in combination. Now you can get the thunderous lows of the neck pickup or the midrange cut of the bridge – or both – without 60 cycle hum!

Like all Aguilar pickups, the AG 4P/J-HC set is wound in Aguilar’s NYC factory and is a direct replacement for 4-string Fender P-Bass® and Jazz® bridge pickups. The pickups use 42 gauge Formvar wire and Alnico V magnets for the big, dynamic tone that Aguilar pickups are known for.

The AG 4P/J-HC pickups will be available December 1st 2012 and carry a U.S. street price of $185.00.

Los Angeles, CA — Held on the eve of the annual Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), the U.S. finals for the 2012 Roland V-Drums® World Championship exposed exceptional drumming talent and the power and versatility of Roland drums and percussion. Each of the talented U.S. finalists played an original drum performance using the TD-30KV V-Pro® Series V-Drums, OCTAPAD® SPD-30 Percussion Pad, and SPD-SX Sampling Pad.

U.S. finalist Jeffrey Fajardo drove all the way from his home in Brooklyn, New York, to Austin, Texas, for the competition, a journey of nearly 2,000 miles, after his flight was cancelled due to Super Storm Sandy. Though Fajardo didn’t win, his dedication reflects the passion inspired by the Roland V-Drums World Championship. The big winner of the evening was Patrick Kennedy from the Austin suburb of Manor, Texas, who performed a solo that combined electronica, real-time loops, and a display of groove and fills.

Previously a runner-up in the 2011 U.S. semifinals, Patrick Kennedy will be representing the United States at the V-Drums World Championship 2 in April 2013 during Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany. “It was an honor to participate in the V-Drums national competition,” Patrick reflected on the experience afterwards. “I had an amazing time getting to hang out and talk with Thomas Lang and Johnny Rabb, as well as all of the other contestants.” Kennedy won a TD-30KV V-Drums set with a set of REMO custom shell wraps, a complete set of DW hardware, dozens of Pat Kennedy signature sticks from Vic Firth, and a year’s subscription to DRUM! magazine.

Runner-up Phillip “P.J.” Hill of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, performed with a blend of technique and hip musical style. The other talented competitors included Brandon Currie from Marietta, Georgia; DeCarlos Davis from Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Jeffrey Fajardo from Brooklyn, New York; Tony “T.J.” Fisher from Long Beach, California; Casey Glass from Loveland, Colorado; and Reed Hayes from Deltona, Florida.

Roland’s Annual V-Drums World Championship gives drummers around the globe a unique opportunity to explore their musical passion, flexibility and the creative options of electronic percussion. The contestants performed in front of a lively onsite audience of over 250, while a large, worldwide audience watched the live event online as it was broadcast on the Roland U.S. website.

Co-sponsored by DRUM! magazine, Drum Workshop, Remo, and Vic Firth, the national finals was the culmination of more than four months of exciting drumming competitions in the U.S. Beginning with an 11-week online selection process that began in June, nearly 300 drummers submitted video performances that were carefully judged by Roland U.S. staff members. Of the hundreds of submissions, 48 contestants were selected to compete in eight semifinal events in front of live audiences nationwide. These events were held on two consecutive weekends in September, where judges chose the final eight drummers for the national finals.

“Having the contest at this year’s PASIC event was awesome,” said Roland Percussion Product Manager Tim Root, who once again served as the evening’s emcee. “We were able to introduce Roland V-Drums to a whole new group of drummers and percussionists. We were very pleased at the turnout and our partnership with the Percussive Arts Society. By streaming the contest live, we were able to reach a global audience. Now, it’s on to the V-Drums World Championship 2 finals in Europe—go USA!”

Los Angeles, CA, November 15, 2012 — BOSS Corporation U.S. recently held the U.S. National Finals for the Loop Station World Championship 3, its annual international competition for looping musicians. Seven talented artists competed at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, on October 20, 2012, with Super Tall Paul Newman coming out on top as the U.S. Champion. The victory earned him $3,000 in BOSS gear, plus the honor to represent the United States at the world finals during the 2013 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.

The U.S. looping finalists performed before a live audience and a panel of celebrity judges, including Billy Idol guitarist and Camp Freddy founder Billy Morrison; TAXI founder Michael Laskow; noted keyboardist and Chair of the Keyboard Program at MI Lisa Harriton; and BOSS/Roland guitar product manager Gary Lenaire. The event was also streamed live on the web on GuitarTV.com, with viewers offering real-time comments via Twitter.

Now in its third year, the BOSS Loop Station World Championship provides an opportunity for BOSS loop artists to showcase their musical talents on a global stage. Competitions are held in many different countries around the world, with the national winners going on to compete with each other at the international finals.

The seven U.S. finalists were chosen from hundreds of video submissions received by BOSS during the summer of 2012. Each performed an original composition by singing, playing various instruments, and creating live loops with a BOSS RC-series Loop Station product.

With an eclectic, spirited performance that featured beatboxing, ukulele, sax, flute, nose whistle, singing, and dancing, the Hollywood-based Newman won over the judges to grab the top spot. Second Place honors and $2,000 is BOSS gear went to Belgin Urgusu (aka DJ Berlin) of Baltimore, MD, while Third Place and $1,000 in BOSS gear went to Steven Cantor (aka HeaveN Beatbox) from Alpharetta, GA.

The other finalists included Vox Machina (“Mister Tim” Jones and Matt Murphy) of Longmont, CO; Robert Williamson of Dublin, GA; and Danny Watson of Cincinnati, OH.

In addition to seeing some unique and impressive looping performances, the in-house live audience had the opportunity to participate in a random drawing, with many members winning valuable BOSS and Roland gear throughout the evening.

“All seven contestants were amazing. Now Super Tall Paul Newman is off to the international finals in January 2013,” said Gary Lenaire, BOSS/Roland Guitar Product Manager.

November 2012 – IK Multimedia – the leader in mobile music-creation apps and accessories for iPhone, iPad...

November 2012 – IK Multimedia – the leader in mobile music-creation apps and accessories for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch – is proud to announce the release of iGrand Piano for iPhone and iPod touch, a concert quality, highly playable, and extremely expressive app, offering 17 gorgeous sounding stereo pianos that rival the best virtual pianos for Mac and PC.

The app’s stunning graphics are native to iPhone 4, iPhone 5,and the new iPod touch, meaning that its display utilizes the full screen size of the new devices, but is also optimized for previous models.

iGrand Piano for iPhone and iPod touch provides the same features, sound quality and piano lineup as the recently released iGrand Piano for iPad. Users get a virtual gallery of pianos including grands, baby grands, uprights, and even specialty pianos. The app includes a collection of 8 pianos, which can be expanded up to 17 via in-app purchase.

The pianos get their incredibly accurate sound from high-definition stereo samples, recorded across multiple velocities. The ultra-low latency sound engine provides a natural feel that allows for expressive and nuanced playing. Additionally iGrand Piano offers very high polyphony (up to 64 notes can be played simultaneously on the latest devices) allowing for the most demanding performances to be played flawlessly.

Each of iGrand Piano’s instruments can be adjusted with any of seven performance parameters. These include Volume, Ambience, Lid (positioning), Brightness, Transpose, Tuning and Release. All of the parameters can be easily assigned to a MIDI controller number for external control. In addition, iGrand Piano supports MIDI program change and Virtual MIDI.

Besides its stunning piano sounds, the app has a built-in recorder, which offers overdubbing; quantizing; and audio file export using file sharing, e-mail and the copy function. Also included is a large audio/visual metronome with a tap tempo function.

The app provides two different views for onscreen playing, but the best playing experience is obtained when using iGrand Piano for iPhone with an external keyboard. IK offers two excellent options in this regard: iRig MIDI lets you connect any MIDI keyboard to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, and control Core MIDI apps; and the new iRig KEYS, an ultra-portable, 37 mini-key controller loaded with performance features, is compatible with Apple’s mobile devices as well as Mac/PC; and is bus powered on both platforms.

Price and Availability

iGrand Piano is available for $19.99/€17.99 from the App Store at: www.itunes.com/appstore.

Purchasers of iGrand Piano get a selection of eight top-quality pianos and can add the other nine through the Piano Expansion Pack available via in-app purchase.

iGrand Piano is also available in a FREE version which comes with two 4-octave, range-limited pianos, and users have the option to add more pianos via in-app purchase.

Los Angeles, CA — Roland is pleased to announce the GR-D V-Guitar Distortion and GR-S V-Guitar Space pedals, two revolutionary new stompboxes designed for use with the GC-1 GK-Ready Stratocaster and other GK-compatible guitars with a 13-pin output. Housed in the popular Twin Pedal format and equipped with connections for integrating with standard pedals, amps, multi-effects, and other GK devices, the V-Guitar pedals deliver a wide range of unique sounds that can only be achieved with Roland’s GK processing.

The GR-D V-Guitar Distortion and GR-S V-Guitar Space bring the immense power of GK technology to the familiar guitar stompbox. In combination with a guitar outfitted with a Roland GK pickup, the V-Guitar pedals allow players with traditional setups to enjoy some of the incredible sound potential found in cutting-edge Roland GK products like the GR-55 Guitar Synthesizer and VG-99 V-Guitar System. The pedals also give current GK users all-new additional sounds for their existing rig.

Unlike standard monophonic guitar pickups, the Roland GK pickup senses and isolates each individual string on the instrument, sending them as six discrete signals to a 13-pin jack. When connected to a GK device like a V-Guitar pedal, each string can be processed individually, opening up a universe of sound possibilities that are impossible with a normal 1/4-inch guitar output.

The GR-D V-Guitar Distortion features four bold distortion sounds that are only achieved with GK processing. Included are two new VG Distortion tones, plus Poly Distortion and Synth sounds derived from the VG and GR series. GAIN, COLOR, TONE, LEVEL knobs allow the user to shape the sound, with four memory locations provided for storing custom settings for quick recall from the GK-compatible guitar while performing. A Solo function, accessible with one of the pedal’s two footswitches, boosts the presence of the sound for lead playing.

The GR-S V-Guitar Space features four dynamic, spacious sounds made possible with GK processing: Crystal, Rich Modulation, Slow Pad, and Brilliant Clean. COLOR, TONE, LEVEL knobs are available for sound shaping, with four memory locations for storing custom settings. A Freeze function, accessible with one of the pedal’s two footswitches, continuously holds the current sound for lead backing and impressive sound effects.

The rear panels of the V-Guitar pedals are loaded with connectivity options for integrating with a wide variety of setups. There’s a 13-pin input for connecting a GK-compatible guitar, and mono/stereo output jacks for connecting to pedals, multi-effects, amps, mixing consoles, and more. A G. AMP/LINE switch sets the signal level and output tone to match the connected device.

Dual MIX/GUITAR inputs allow players to connect a standard 1/4-inch guitar output, pedals, or multi-effects and blend them with the GK sound. All sounds are mixed internally and passed to the mono/stereo output.

The 13-pin GK output carries the guitar’s normal pickup signal as well, and it’s sent unprocessed to the V-Guitar pedal’s mono/stereo output. Controls on the GK-compatible guitar allow the player to blend the GK and normal sounds right from their instrument. A dedicated GUITAR OUTPUT jack lets users connect the V-Guitar pedal directly to an effect or amp with no GK processing applied.

Roland’s popular GC-1 GK-Ready Stratocaster is a perfect fit for the V-Guitar pedals, and there are GK-compatible guitars available from many other manufacturers as well. Roland also offers the GK-3 Divided Pickup, allowing players to easily add GK compatibility to their favorite guitar with no modification.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • October 26, 2012 — Universal Audio (UA), a leading manufacturer of professional audio recording hardware and software, is pleased to announce the impending release of the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor Plug-In for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform and Apollo Audio Interface. Created by UAD Direct Development partner Brainworx® and Shadow Hills Industries founder Peter Reardon, this true-to-life plug-in emulation of the hallmark Mastering Compressor expertly tempers dynamics and tames transients like no other device on the market.

“The Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor hardware is capable of delivering so much character and color, from subtle to very dramatic. It was important to me that any plug-in emulation provided the same sonic experience,” said Shadow Hills’ Peter Reardon. “Thankfully, the team at Brainworx and Universal Audio have faithfully brought this hardware product to life in the digital world.”

As the go-to compressor on recordings by Muse, Gnarls Barkley, Coldplay, John Mayer, Regina Spektor, and more, the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor features a world-class signal path, controlling music dynamics in two stages — first with an Optical section, then with a Discrete (VCA) section. Both sections can be bypassed, providing a variety of compression sounds (Optical, Discrete, and combined) from a velvet touch to an iron fist.

Like the hardware version, the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor plug-in offers selection of three distinct output transformers (Nickel, Iron, and Steel) — taking the signal from “clean” to “colored” and “dirty” — as if selecting from the output stages of three distinct classic analog consoles.

Whether employed on a vocal chain, drum buss, or on the master fader, the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor’s unique control and character will inspire creativity.

Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor Plug-In Features:

Meticulous emulation of the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor, licensed and endorsed by Peter Reardon

Created by Brainworx, developed exclusively for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform

Separate Optical and Discrete (VCA) dynamics sections for two-stage serial dynamics control

Transformer matrix switches between Nickel, Iron, and Steel output transformers — like selecting between 3 distinct vintage console outputs

90Hz sidechain filtering for musical compression of low-frequency program material

Large, accurate VU meters provide Optical, Discrete, or Output gain views

Custom presets created by Shadow Hills founder and designer Peter Reardon

Available as part of the upcoming UAD Software v6.3.2 release, scheduled for early November, the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor will be available for $299 US from UA’s Online Store.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA • October 26, 2012 —Universal Audio (UA), a leading manufacturer of professional audio recording hardware and software, is pleased to announce the impending release of the Precision K-Stereo™ Ambience Recovery Plug-In for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform and Apollo Audio Interface. Created by Universal Audio in collaboration with famed mastering engineer Bob Katz, the K-Stereo Ambience Recovery plug-in extracts ambient cues from source recordings — allowing users to precisely enhance the stereo depth and imaging of mixes without unnatural artifacts.

“The K-Stereo plug-in gives mastering engineers an easy, organic-sounding solution for excessively small mixes or mixes that need more space and depth — from classical to jazz, rock, or hip-hop,” said Bob Katz. “Because we’re effectively ‘pulling out’ the ambience that’s already in the recording, the results sound much more natural. I’m happy to be working with UA to bring K-Stereo to the UAD platform.”

Designed for critical 2-track mastering or post-production applications, the K-Stereo plug-in offers a “do-no-harm” approach to adding depth and width to busy or narrow-sounding mixes. Using elements of the Haas effect and other psychoacoustic principles, the plug-in transparently enhances existing ambience and early reflections without adding artificial reverb or changing the ratio of center elements to side elements.

Precision K-Stereo Ambience Recovery Plug-In Features:

Unique ambience recovery and stereo processing tool, created and patented by famed mastering engineer Bob Katz

Extracts ambient cues from the source material, naturally adding depth and width to the stereo field

Perfect for fixing busy or “narrow” mixes at the mastering stage

3-band Ambience Filter EQ for further shaping the effect

Mid/Side gain controls available to adjust the center-to-side balance

Left/Right Gain controls for final stereo image balancing and leveling

Custom user presets created by Bob Katz

Available as part of the upcoming UAD Software v6.3.2 release, scheduled for early November, the Precision K-Stereo Ambience Recovery Plug-In will be available for $199 US via UA’s Online Store.

Berlin, October 25, 2012 – Ableton is excited to announce two groundbreaking new music-making products: Live 9, the music creation software with inspiring new possibilities, and Push – Ableton’s first hardware instrument for Live.

Live 9

The upgrade to version 9 greatly expands the creative possibilities of Ableton’s popular Live software.

The most important new features at a glance:

Session automation: In Session View, automation can now be recorded in real time directly within clips. Automation can move together with clips between Arrangement and Session View.

Find sounds fast: Live’s new browser puts all instruments, effects, samples, and plug-ins in one easy-to-navigate view. Drag and drop folders from anywhere on your computer, search as you type and navigate from the keyboard to find everything quickly.

Discover new sounds: Live comes with a large selection (3,500 in the Suite edition) of production-ready sounds, which were carefully crafted with the help of over 40 artists, sound designers and engineers. All sounds feature Macro controls for fast access to their most meaningful, musical parameters.

Get your sound right: Live’s studio effects have all been reworked for even better sound and usability. The Glue Compressor is a new effect – an authentic model of a legendary 1980s console bus compressor. EQ Eight has an audition mode for isolating frequencies and an expandable spectrum display. The Gate and Compressor effects feature a Gain Reduction view which shows changes in signal level over time.

Extract music from samples: Live’s new Harmony, Melody and Drums to MIDI tools extract natural-feeling MIDI directly from the favorite parts of your music collection. You can also sing, tap a rhythm, play any solo instrument, then use Melody or Drums to MIDI to turn your recordings into MIDI clips that you can edit and reuse with any sound.

Edit the details: Transpose, reverse and stretch MIDI notes or warp clip automation and add curves to automation envelopes. New tools and an improved workflow allow fast and flexible editing of musical ideas.

Max for Live – now in Suite: The Suite edition of Live 9 comes with Max for Live and its many unique instruments, effects and tools. Max for Live itself includes 24 new devices such as a convolution reverb, new drum synthesizer instruments, MIDI echo as well as reworked versions of classics such as Step Sequencer and Buffer Shuffler 2.

Pricing and Availability
Prices start at USD 99 / EUR 79 (Live 9 Intro download version), USD 449 / EUR 349 (Live 9 Standard download version) and USD 749 / EUR 599 (Live 9 Suite download version).
Upgrades to Live 9 Standard / Live 9 Suite vary in price depending on the Ableton products you already own.

Ableton Live 9 will be available in the first quarter of 2013.

Push

Ableton presents a new hardware instrument designed to solve an old problem: how to make a song from scratch.

Push provides direct, hands-on control of melody and harmony, beats, sounds and structure, powered by Ableton Live running on your computer. High-quality, dynamic pads, buttons, encoders and display combined with an innovative workflow allow you to play and compose musical ideas without the need to look at or touch your computer, and more importantly, without interrupting the musical flow.

Move smoothly from creation to arrangement: Push offers both the inspiring instrument to start creating music, and the full-featured software to finish off a track. Everything created with Push is laid out in Ableton Live on your computer – ready for fine-tuning, arrangement and export.

Includes Ableton Live 9: Push includes Ableton Live 9 Intro and works with any edition of Ableton Live 9 (Intro, Standard, Suite). All the included instruments, effects and sounds, as well as your own libraries, are ready to be played, tweaked, and personalized.

Designed by Ableton, built by Akai Professional: Utilizing Akai Pro’s long-standing expertise in the field of pad controllers, Push features 64 pressure and velocity-sensitive RGB (multi-colored) pads with an adaptive layout and a touch strip with 24 LEDs for pitch bending or navigating through a Drum Rack. The 11 touch-sensitive encoders and LCD display adapt dynamically to control and show active parameters.

Fits inside a backpack alongside a laptop: Push is 370 mm / 14.57 inches wide, 293 mm / 11.54 inches deep and is 46 mm / 1.81 inches in height (including encoders) and weighs 2990g / 6.59 pounds. Backside connections are a USB port, power adaptor input and two assignable footswitch inputs. (Push is USB-powered, the brightness of the display and LEDs can be increased by using the included power supply).

Push cover: An optional steel cover doubles as a sturdy, angled stand for performance.

Pricing and availability
Push will be available in the first quarter of 2013 for USD 599 / EUR 499.
Push includes Ableton Live 9 Intro and works with any edition of Ableton Live 9 (Intro, Standard, Suite).
Bundle upgrade discounts will be available for owners of previous versions of Live.
