Mapex Offers a New Look, Starting with the MyDentity Custom Drum Builder

NASHVILLE – The Mapex Drum Company is offering a first for drummers, a complete custom drum experience at a fraction of the cost and lead-time of other custom options currently on the U.S. market. Available to U.S. residents only starting on March 1, the program will feature a custom design tool, dubbed MyDentity (www.mapexdrums.com/mydentityUSA). The tool is simple to use and directs the sale through Mapex’s network of U.S. based retailers so they can benefit from the sale without carrying the burden of inventory. At launch, MyDentity will offer over 50 different wrap-finish options, ten different hardware colors (including lug casings), two wood types, four front bass drum heads, and more than 35 drum sizes for a total of over 500 million possible combinations!

The drums will be finished and assembled in the MyDentity custom shop in Nashville, TN and shipped anywhere in the U.S. 30 days after the purchase order is received from an Authorized U.S.A. Mapex MyDentity Retailer.

To keep the program simple, Mapex has set the MSRPs to be flat for a 4pc kit at $1549, a 5pc kit at $1729, and a 6pc kit at $1919, regardless of the consumer’s preferred drums sizes, wood type, and finish selection. For an additional charge, consumers can add pedals, a throne, cymbal stands, and as many drums as they desire (individual prices vary per component). Please note this innovative program is available exclusively for sales within the United States until further notice.

The MyDentity program will also feature the all new Mapex logo, both on the front bass drum head options and on a unique new badge design. The badge design will mimic the logo, and will be carried over into badge designs for all Mapex drum kits going forward, showing off a distinct and consistent look for years to come. The subsequent rebranding campaign will begin immediately in marketing collateral and advertising, and will continue throughout 2012 and beyond with new product and packaging.
